How much does an NFL Head Coach make compared to a College Head Coach?

Kelly is making 9 plus and if he wins 9 games a year and makes playoffs he probably will not get fired.
NFL coaches pretty much get fired every 3 to 5 years. Unless you work for the Rooneys.

Good point. I think the appeal of the NFL for a college coach is not having to deal with recruiting or NIL/Portal.

Google says the average NFL head coach makes $6.6 million/year. Kelly is on the high end for college coaches.

It's similar to college football, with bigger ceiling. Average head coach makes 6.6 million in nfl. But the top 5 make 12.5, 14, 16, 18, 20 (something like that, Tomlin, mcgay, Payton, Bill b).
It wouldn't pay more for a Kelly, smart since 0 success in nfl. Harbaugh could get a silly high deal since taken team to super bowl. But then again, Michigan might be willing to pay him 12,14 million, who knows.

Tomlin is stealing that money. He has some good one liners but his decisions suck.

NFL is highest level. Guys will always want to know if they can do it at the highest level, plus the NFL is just about ball. Not fundraising, not recruiting 24/7/365 or trying to make everyone happy.
I can absolutely see the appeal

He needs a qb. Same for the Patriots.
