You Replace Saban. Bama is a fricking machine right now. Stabilizing is easier than rebuilding.

Honestly, I'd rather be the guy after him. I know the roster won't need that much of a rebuild. If another guy comes and screws things up, then naturally I will have to almost start over.

No matter the coach

9 SEC titles in 17 years isn't happening again

In the past, the roster he left would be very appealing but with the transfer portal and NIL the roster could get poached badly and not even be the machine that Saban left behind yesterday.

On top of that, you'd then have fans with crazy standards that think you should have kept it going and want you gone in 3 years or less.

Being afraid to replace Saban is a bitch mentality. Most championship level coaches are not going to be afraid of that challenge

You are probably right. But that will be the baseline expectation level (even if it is totally unreasonable). That's what makes the job a bit less than desirable.

Can you imagine every decision you make being compared to how Saban would have done it?

That will suck

On the other hand, whomever it is will be highly compensated

This. A competitor is not afraid of the challenge.

And how would Miles had done if Saban had 6 titles when he left. Does he even make it through the 2006 under performance? Bama fans expectations are on an entirely different level than LSU fans in 2005.
