Why isn't USF a legitimate option for #14 for the SEC?

- 49,000+ enrollment
- Respected academically
- Expands the SEC deeper into Florida as compared to FSU
- Top 25 football program

Because UF will act like a bitch if we go and add a team from Florida.

USF alums much less people in Florida don't give a shite about USF football.

Why don't we add Texas State or North Texas or some other big commuter school with inflated numbers.

i would take usf any day before wvu or tcu.......

USF would be a definite candidate for the 15 or 16th spot i think, but not 14. i am all but certain thats going to wvu at this point.

Large student body but ranked below every single SEC school in academics per US News. Yes, been ranked in Top 25 here and there over the past several years but traditionally not even near the top 100. Basically a Commuter schol

That's great. So what other commuter schools should we add? I hear Houston is available. What about university of North Florida? They have 16,000 students. We could add them both and they could be the eastern teams, then we can add Houston and UT arlington to the west. South Florida is 36K, North Florida is 16k, Houston is 30K, and UT Arlington is 33K.
Can we make you conference commissioner now? You'd be fricking awesome at it.

I think its just a general lack of prestige. Not that it isn't a good school but it just doesn't have that certain amount of prestige.

Worked with a USF alum. She was an outspoken UF fan and never even mentioned USF football... until they became ranked a few years ago.

You realized USF's football program hasn't been around that long right? They started the program in 1997 and went 1A in 2001.
That said, I wouldn't compare USF to UH as some in here are but, the main one doing it is a TCU fan that is probably butt hurt that their team is going to a conference that is disintegrating as we speak.

Hey we just stole North Texas' WAC invite from them! Quit trying to poach us from our new conference!

Seriously, I still don't know how we got an invite to any FBS conference. We haven't played football in 26 years (and have no plans to bring it back, though we could rent the most awesome home field available)

But thanks for the UTA props!

That is kind of my thinking, but apparently unless its a non-commuter school, it can't be an option.
Half the arguments, including by Slowflowpro were that UH was better than WVU and Missouri because of the markets, but USF offers more than a UH or Rice.

Jesus, you can't even keep your idiotic posts on that subject in the right thread. Is it time for lights out in your home for the mentally challenged? Stop slobbering on the keyboard, dipshit.
