Damn! Everyone hates this idea.

Joe Brady was what we wanted Billy Gonzalez to be.

That’s kind of what I remember. But nobody was not running short side options under Miles. Was just thinking he’s been around the SEC for a while and is a well regarded coach.

As for recruiting, what about Larry Porter? I see he’s at UNC now. How bad an idea is that?

Dude gets my respect, never played a meaningful snap but still rode the bench all 4 years when he could have transferred.

Signing him was worth it for the Aggie melt alone. They were pumping their chest over getting a commit from a 4-star Louisiana kid, but once we offered, he flipped. Looking back it’s almost like Miles flipped him just because he could.

For the record, Billy did Fobbs wrong. Sold him on "you could be the next Percy Harvin" and dude never got a serious shot at WR.

He would've been a fricking superstar at A&M or Miss St.

He was that tall skinny receiver that got huge hype. Wasn't he a juco?

Porter is fricking program cancer. He was hated by most of the staff when he was here, but sucked up to Miles and at least was a good recruiter. However, he wasn’t even on the same planet as Frank, so we upgraded when he left.

What he did to the Memphis program is second only to what Mike Locksley did to New Mexico. It was less dramatic, but he made Memphis just as bad. They were lucky to beat an FCS team his last season and were bottom 5 in the FBS by the time he was fired. The school literally flirted with dropping football or moving it to the FCS after attendance bottomed out during his tenure. Thankfully, Fuente was able to put the pieces together and finally get that program headed in the right direction.

Porter doesn’t ever need to come back here.

I think he was coach that was so pissed at Les and offense he forced coaches to use in the 2011 championship game, he refused to get on bus and walked back to team hotel.
