1/9 for sure

Other than that probably Bama ‘12 and I follow that with the loss to Bama (PP7 in bounds interception) not sure the year.

It was probably 2013 or 2014 Bama where we had them beat late. We were hunting in Northern Michigan - I even woke up my wife to watch the last few minutes. We’ll, they came back and it sucked. Haven’t called her in to watch anything since.

One that always comes to mind is the 1987 Midwest Regional Final of Great Eight. LSU lost a heartbreaker to Indiana (76-77) and appeared to be in control in second half until Bobby Knight started throwing tantrums and punching phones at the scorers table. This one still stings after all these years. I wanted to win a basketball championship so bad with one of those Dale Brown teams. They left it all out on the court.

I was in the band that day, and it is still the only game I have ever walked out of convinced the refs jobbed us. Bobby Knight should have definitely been thrown out of the game when he broke the phone: he had already been T-ed up before the rant really got started.

Oh, and the Final Four was in the Dome that year.

Painful.

So, I will define "depressing" as the realization that "it is over and it will not get any better."

For this reason, I will submit 1992 Arkansas.

Cold, rainy late afternoon in Fayetteville. Hogs dominated 30-0 with the Tigers having no offense, and really didn't even look like they had any players that were ready for the SEC going forward. The perfectly depressing capstone for the worst LSU team in history (at 2-9, that team was the first LSU team to lose more than 7 games.)

Made you kind of wonder if LSU was ever going to come back.

What about Kentucky 1995? That loss should have never happened.

Yep, not only that, they were hacking the crap out of us down the stretch when they rallied and then they finally call one and Fess misses the free throw.

Ultimately, Dale going to the 4-corners or spread was a major factor as well to blowing the lead. They could not stop Nakita but we quit going to him down the stretch.

But whatever the reasons, yeah that remains as painful a loss as I'll ever have as a Tiger fan.

It's hard to beat 1/9/12, but I'm gonna throw in one that really hurt to me.

Florida beat us 58-3 one year and the score could have just as easily been 116-3. Consequently, when we won it all in 2003 I mentally went back to that game as a matter of coming full circle. But that night in particular told me just how far down LSU had fallen as a program.
