So … I have spent the cold and wet weekend cleaning up the house in an effort to reduce clutter, etc. Came across this LSU gem … my paternal grandfather’s (John J. Aertker) season ticket booklet (#1890) for the 1936-1937 football season. My 12-year old son thought it was so cool. #LSU #lsufootball

Is it just me or does grandfather look a little like Joey B?

That's great. Only three years later Texas A&M would allegedly win a Natty.

Great find. My dad was a student at LSU in 1936. They had some wild times that year.

Believe students were issued these and did not have to pay; students got in free like smaller schools still do today.

So I guess you showed it at the gate and then went in and sat where you wanted like it was when I attended- except we had an ID they punched -

It says you have to surrender it at the gate so the book must have had tickets that we’re torn out- this must be the empty remains-

I do believe I know some of your family. I grew up with Scott and bought Erick's house a few years back

It’s amazing what our parents & grandparents keep for us to find.

Interestingly, even in 1936 Miss St. was our Homecoming game. Some things never change.

They would probably display that in the LSU museum, if you are so inclined.
