When he no longer has. a spark of life in his eyes. Lost mine last fall. He was in failing health for several weeks BUT if I put a bone from a meal in front of him, he lit up and would attack it. He couldn't walk much but loved riding in the car so we rode for at least an hour every day. Then the last Friday, I took him in for his fluids and he ignored his bone. No energy.
