Your comments about Bama’s history prior to Saban come off as pretty ignorant for two reasons:
1. Go look at LSU’s history prior to Saban. He built the foundation that allowed Les Miles and Ed Orgeron to win national titles here.
2. It’s like you think college football started in 2000. Yeah, they had a rough few years under Shula. In the 90’s they won a national title, two conference titles, and four western division titles.
So yeah, they’ll probably take a step back when Saban retires. That’s what happens when you lose the greatest coach in the history of college football. But there’s absolutely no reason to just write them off. Maybe they make a good hire, maybe they don’t. But either way the framework will be there. I doubt Saban will leave Bama in worse shape than Orgeron left LSU.
