cigarettes and weight issues.

i finally just got pissed off at cigs a bunch of years ago and said that's it, and i did it...people who say you will always crave a cig are wrong..not only do i not crave them, they disgust me.

aging kinda took care of the weight issue somewhat. i'm around 200 lbs now, but was around 265 several years ago..i love good food, and lots of it.

I quit smoking years ago with nicotine gum. I've been chewing that shite for 15 years now though

I broke a pack day habit about 20 years ago. I don't crave them and haven't in a long, long time. It was hard for the first year or two.

i did the gum too, for a short while...the gum is expensive like cigs and every bit as addictive.

Afrin nasal spray when I was like 21

I went down the dark spiral of Afrin addiction also. I had to have one in my pocket at all times. That stuff is awesome. I still don’t feel like I’ve had a deep breath through my nose since then and that was like 10 years ago.

I spend about $25 every 2 weeks on it so no big deal. I've never really made an honest attempt to get off of it though.

i chain chewed those mofo's when i did them and although i quit the cigs, the gum held me hostage so i quit those too. was easier than i expected, but not a walk in the park easy.

Yes. I went to treatment in October 2021 and just got back from a meeting where I picked up my four month chip. It has and continues to be the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I'm just putting one foot in front of the other and taking it "one day at a time"

Fortunately negative there.

I have given alcohol a good enough chance to take a regular foothold into my life but fortunately for me, it doesn’t own me.

I tried to struggle with addiction once. Addiction took one look at me and went in for the shoulder-to-shoulder "sister-in-law hug" instead.

No lie. I’m trying to break that habit but I like to breath and the shite works.

How did you kick it?

No secret. I just got tired of being chained to a bottle of nose spray and went cold turkey. Couldn’t breath through my nose at all for a few days then it gradually got better.
