what are this boards opinions on ice cream spots in the city?

ive never had any of these places, largely because pints often cost over 10 bucks, but people seem to like places like milk + sugar and the chocolate bar and jenis and you see cloud 10 creamery on a bunch of menus

am i missing out? are these places worth the extra cost over blue bell? if so, which ones would be recommended?

The Chocolate bar is pretty damn good. Cakes are awesome there

Milk + Sugar is good, asians love it for some reason. It is a good date night move, go to paulie's and/or camerata then get some ice cream after.

There is a place in katy called Howdy Homemade Ice Cream. Trae the Truth opened it and employs mentally disabled people. And the ice cream is good, they have a Dr. Pepper ice cream that is legit.

Milk+Sugar and Cloud10 are my two favorites...Cloud10 has a toasted rice and a pandan flavored ice cream that's pretty legit.

Jeni’s Honey Vanilla Bean will convert anyone from Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla. Most of her other flavors will keep you out of the Blue Bell freezer, too. Van Leeuwen Kraft Mac and Cheese ice cream is cream of the crop. VL has a few new shops popping up around town. You can also checkout Underground Creamery’s Instagram-only game. It’s worth the hassle!

It's not ice cream per se, but we used to always love Ritter's Frozen Custard on Fry Rd. We always go there when we are in town visiting.

Jeni’s on 19th and Ashland. You can smell the homemade waffle cones from down the street.

Underground Creamery’s procurement process is part of the allure. He will riddle you the “drop time” in his IG story. The answer to the riddle will clue you into go time for the sale. Be sure to have your payment info preprogrammed into your account on his site or you’ll never get a pint. Literally 2-3 minutes max and they’re gone. The early days before word got out were so much easier. Good luck!

Chocolate Bar is good. Took my MIL and wife there and I think they almost had a stroke. Flower and Cream and Hanks in that part of town got good reviews from the family too.

Fat Cat is good. I’ve taken a few lucky ladies to KA sushi then fat cat for dessert. Even made out on the outside bench.
