Thanks Ronk. I don’t remember having this weed I’m my previous lawn. Would it have come in with the new sod? Landscaper said the grass came straight from somewhere in Alabama and delivered directly to my house and then installed.
If I opt to treat it, is it too soon to spray anything on the new grass?

It could have come from the sod farm but they usually treat their grass pretty well. If the dallisgrass plant is fairly new it won't have a big root system. You can keep it cut and there is a chance that it won't be able to photosynthesis enough food. That should deplete the root system and the plant will die.

Good article on Dallisgrass control LINK
Most herbicides specifically state on their label not to apply to newly seeded, sprigged or sodded lawns until the lawn grass is rooted and fully established. Usually at least 3 or 4 months. Read the label for any herbicide you consider using first - pesticide label information is always on the web so you don’t have go to the store or buy the chemical first in order when to find out when you can safely use it.
