My wife and I went early, and found a mob of students already walking towards us with sod. People were actually walking up to them and taking pieces from them. We managed to get to the pile, got 3 sections, and managed to get them back to the truck without losing any. The people who had lined up in vehicles, some from out of state, never had a chance to get any. I have mine around my flagpole in the front yard.

FWIW, I still have part of the turf that I tore up following Kevin Faulk et al. beating Darth Visor and the #1 Florida Gators. Sits beside my copy of the SI "See ya Later Gator" cover.

I got two slabs. One for my dad and one for my father in law.

It was an epic shitshow that day. They tried to line up cars in order and do it neatly. Then a few people from the back walked up and grabbed some sod and walked back to their cars. This started an absolute feeding frenzy of disorganization. Everyone ran up and you had to dive in and run out before someone shanked you. It was beautifully trashy.

Pics of your grass, please? I wanted some but was out of town on a business trip.

I wish I would’ve kept that grass from the 97 Florida game

Planted it on my Dad's grave, with some corks, tube jigs, and lead heads underneath. I kept it in planter outside, and would bring inside for the last few games and championship. Planted transplanted it in March.
