He was 15 and my dad was 18. Bunch bikers took over a bar down Bayou Lafourche. Art told my dad he was gonna fix it and my dad said these guys are gonna kill us. He said just watch nobody hots me from behind with a bottle, commenced to beating the crap out of all 8 guys by himself before cops arrived.

I was in New Orleans hanging with Art one Sunday and the falcons were in town. Art looks at me and says “I could take everyone on that falcons bus at the same time”. I told him no way.

Next thing I know Art picks up their bus with everyone still in and starts waving it around like a weapon, then he just throws it into the side of the super dome. Cops just ran away. Ole Art was a mess!

That’s the Art we know and love. The kind of stand-up guy you would be honored to be beaten into a pulp by.

Art Cantrell, but wasn’t there someone else who stabbed a guy and we had to kick him off?

Lol it’s absurdity. Even Jon Jones would have trouble beating up that many people at one time. These stories are like bad Chuck Norris jokes. Please give me a fricking break

Yep, even as a police officer. They would just sit by and let a civilian physically assault them and then not enforce consequences. Lol lol

I spoke to an LSU player one time and asked the question about fights in bars. He told me that everywhere they went people would want to try them. He told me one time, that some big ole boy decided he wanted to try Joseph Addai. He said before it popped off, Kyle Williams had finished it. He said everyone thought big LB'ers were the badasses, but nobody wanted to mess with Kyle Williams.

I remember some fight breaking out at Sports or it might have been Reggie’s at that point as it changed names halfway through my LSU tenure…. Fight in the parking lot, some football players involved, mostly O-lineman. Whitworth was a Freshman or Sophmore. I remember him getting in a pickup truck and almost running over the crowd to get out of there. Don’t remember the fight too much. Those days there were fights in the parking lots every single night. Some of them nearly causing death… many causing permanent damage. These millennials would be pissing themselves.

I gotta put AJ Duhe in with this bunch. I have personally witnessed a few bad arse moments involving him.

I remember hearing stories about Wild Bill Elko. Think he was a DT on that ‘82 team which beat the Bahr in B’ham.

That is silly. I knew both Kent and Cantrelle, and Kent was smart enough to never go near Cantrelle when Art was riled up.
