Was the US better off under European colonial rule?

I think reading up on King Leopold and the Congo would answer that question.

List the countries that have prospered under African rule as opposed to those that have been Charlie Foxtrots. Also list the US cities that have prospered under the rule of their descendants as opposed to those that have been Charlie Foxtrots.
C on Z you have any input ?

Under British colonial rule? Absolutely

Yes. Every colonized African country went to shite after gaining their independence. Go watch Empire of Dust.

Africa will eventually be under Chinese rule. Let’s see how kind and benevolent they are to the natives.

Portuguese Angola hosted a beach vacation for the Kennedy family back in the late 50s-early 60s. They Aldo produced 80% of the world’s robusto coffee beans.
Then the communists took over.

Wilbur Smith was the Michner of Africa when it comes to historical novels. About 30 books from pyramids to current day. Read for yourself. Very entertaining.
Tribel fractions is the base issue

The African slave trade was the worst thing ever to happen to America.

There wasn't a sewer system on the entire continent when Europeans arrived and when they left it again became a shithole. So Yes Africa was better off under European colonial rule.

Yes. Compare Rhodesia to Zimbabwe. Once these countries gained their independence the local leaders have stolen them blind. They remind me of inner cities in the US: Jackson, Ms, Atlanta, Chicago, etc. etc.
Same type of leadership: theft and corruption.

Was Africa better off under European colonial rule?
But what value do we assign to the right of self-determination?

The descendants of slaves in the U.S. are definitely better off than if their ancestors had been left in Africa.

I have asked forms of this question for decades now - mostly wrt liability for 'systemic racism' but in terms of Columbus and America.
- What would YOU have done if you were on the first ship that made a landing in the Carribean and met the indigenous people there?
(It is even harder to ask about first encounters with Africans.)
if your answer is anything other than = 'leave them alone and don't tell anyone because someone else may come in and try to take advantage of their relative inequality in the progress of civilization' - then you are advocating for exactly what the current situation is - or more probably WORSE.
Because WE were fortunate enough to be in the country founded by the most benign and forward thinking individuals in the history of the world. Any other scenario would have ended up with far more dire consequences. Remember that the indigenous Americans were slavers themselves, continually raiding and massacring their neighbors, performing human sacrifice, and treating women like cattle.
How much time would you suggest before coming back to evaluate whether or not they had "caught up with European civilization standards? (or maybe after Europeans have devolved back into human sacrifice and women workers.)
OR - perhaps you DO have an answer of how to deal with a continent full of people who were at least four centuries behind in development.
Societal evolution takes centuries - except when we put fresh 20 yr old know-nothings enrolled in 'gender studies' on the taxpayers' dime who knows exactly how the world should work for the next 2000 years.

So - that is the basis of the question I have asked in the above post
what would aggiehank have done if he had been in charge of actions after that first momentous contact>>>>??
really interested in YOUR take on "how we went wrong -> and who, when, where, what would have made it better."
