File with your insurance company and they will decide to sue the parking garage to get their money back. IF you go it alone and want to sue the parking garage yourself good luck with getting anything for a few years and running up legal bills.

Same but it is supposed to pop up on people's iphones that there is an airtag nearby. It was made like that b/c creepers were dropping them in women's purses and putting it on their cars

I put one in a library book door b/c the a-hole across the street likes to vandalize it. Hoping he takes the door off so I can get his dumb arse arrested.

Do you have auto insurance that covers theft?

100% true! I had a dump truck that had a rock fall off and bust my windshield. On back of the dump truck, it said "follow X number of feet behind, not responsible for damage". They hell they weren't, I had a dashcam and showed that they had rocks falling out everywhere and i was able to prove they broke my windshield. Company paid in full!

The real question is do the valets still have your keys? Was their key box tampered with? Etc? What’s the valet company saying?

But yes call your insurance company. If the valet company doesn’t have your keys I’d be having a talk with their management.

Easy way: claim with your insurance and let them pursue the valet company’s insurer

OT Baller way: buy new truck with cash, hire high priced counsel, sue the hotel and the valet company conducting extensive discovery to see how many prior cars were stolen, what their security entails to determine if it is inadequate, etc. Win but it’ll cost you legal costs and attorney fees, hourly or contingency.

Had my catalytic converters stole off my truck in Houston Memorial area last month. Truck was right in front of the hotel main entrance and they still hit it.

Houston is becoming a shite hole.

File a claim with your insurance company. Let your insurance company fight it out with the hotel and their insurance carrier.

exact same thing happened to a buddy of mine this year
he was staying at the Hilton Houston Post Oak

he had a 2018 Ford F-150 Lariat, valet parked it at the hotel and they put it in the garage. Went to retrieve the truck the next day and it was gone. Had clear video of them taking the truck and obviously the valet guys were in on it but no one was charged.

Ford knows where that F250 is right now. If you have Ford Pass, so do you. Go get it.

Didn't sign up for ford pass. Was he first thing dealership asked me. Valet still had keys to truck. Obviously I filed with insurance. Just a frustrating situation. No trucks available in sight. Had belongings inside the stolen truck that i'll never recover. Ppl in this world are terrible. IMO the valet ppl were absolutely in on this, but according to the local police, no way to prove. Basically, shite out of luck.

They can't disclaim negligence. I'm sure you have insurance but you may need to file suit for other damages (e.g. incidentals, difference in value compared to what insurance pays, etc..). Need an attorney to send a letter once your insurance decides what to do.

Wow. So I had a budget meeting in Houston this past July and I stayed at the Marriott across the way from Double Tree (JFK Blvd location). The last night I drove my brand new Trail Boss over to the double tree to watch the All-Star game at their restaurant. I parked my truck in front of the hotel where it was well lit and went inside for roughly 1.5 hrs. Walked out to my truck and it had been broken into and firearm stolen. There were 4 other vehicles just like mine that had been burglarized so when the police officer finished my report I showed him the other ones. Double Tree had a “security patrol car” but it was parked and empty. I had 0 luck with my case so hopefully you have better luck I’ve got all the pictures from my incident if you need them as evidence their locations and guests are poorly guarded

Yeah, shitty people suck. So they didn't steal the keys from the valet? I would call Ford. The telemetry in the truck works wether you signed up for Ford Pass or not.
