5 conference champions and 3 at large should be perfect. Having 10 or 12 is to many.

*checks current AP poll*

I'd say 18 would be about right.

Odds are, we’re going to either end up with 4 super conferences or some stupid 16 team playoff that’s nothing but rematches.

You must mean a 16 team playoff , one that the FBC ( I think that's what it's called) , that is the smaller schools , that has been in use for at least 60 years huh ?

Create six power leagues of 11 teams each.

Playoffs start with conference championship games. Top two of each league.

You want to play in cfp? Win your conference. You get rewarded for reg seaon wins by being allowed to play in conf championship.

Then have 8team playoff. With two mid majors* as the sacrifice offering for the top two seeds.

* Since the mid majors have easier schedules, they have a much longer playoff to get into the major playoff. Top four teams of the mid majors face off in a plan to get into the major playoff.

24. Literally every single level of football from college to the NFL has at least 16-24 teams. The FBS however has 4. It makes no sense that the second highest level of football has such a small sample size of a playoff.

The experiment with 4 has been a waste, but should be the absolute maximum

Anything more than 4 teams is ridiculous and stupid and ruins college football

Agree, the only reason to go beyond 8 is for the money that comes with it. There is typically a big drop off in quality of teams beyond the top 4 or so. Leaving out the number 9 team and beyond, people would not be wondering if they were more worthy to compete for a championship.

I actually like 4 teams now but can see the arguments to expand to 8 teams. Take the Power 5 Champions if they are ranked in the top 15 and then take the best at-large teams after that.

4 teams are enough. If we really wanted to keep the bowls relevant, then the top 4 would be picked after the bowls have been completed. Everyone wins.

Same here when they included strength of schedule as a part of the formula.

8, i dont think 4 teams should have a week off, it gives them an advantage over the others, and how do u pick those 4, it will be political, with 8, all have an equal shot.

6 - Gives the top 2 a bye and more to play for. Typically #4-6 in the polls are interchangeable.

eta: I say no autobids, unless conferences stop playing conference championship games (which is likely).

The top two need warm ups.

Trying to find more than 4 worthy teams is just not needed. We rarely have 4 good ones as it is.

In general I don’t really care for the 12 team set up. However, it does mean we will get in a LOT. Also, it is a perfect set up for years like this year. We will be dangerous at the end of the season and who would want to play us then?
