Personally I'd just enter on the west side since the student section is in the NW corner, but it doesn't really matter.

Just don’t go up. That’s all you have to do.

Do you think I could just enter the student section gate instead of the east upper deck ones?

No. That’s the one gate you will NOT be able to walk in.

The good news is, you can still access the student section from other gates. I used to do it all the time.

If you bought seats in 632, go into the stadium via gate 8 (NE corner across from the PMAC)

Once you walk in, you’ll see two ramps on both sides leading up. These will take you to the upper sections in the lower bowl north end zone (sections 237-244)

Walk out of any portal and you’ll be standing on a large walkway that connects to the student section. Just head that direction, find your friend’s section and go sit with them. It’s really easy.

If you can manage to get to the visitors sideline (east side) walk towards LSU's tunnel (north endzone) when you get to the concessions take a left and then take a right into a tunnel under the stadium before you get onto the field level area. Follow that tunnel until you get to the student section. If this doesn't help then you must be very intoxicated

Does anyone know how many seats are allocated to students?

That’s almost easier than voting in a government election!
