To my knowledge LSU has never beaten Bama wearing purple. We wore gold/purple/gold vs the Tide in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1994. LSU's record in that combo vs the Tide was 0-6-1, and Saban didn't coach even one of those winning Bama teams!

This stupid weekly thread sucks. It always has. It always will. The color of the uniforms we wear has no bearing on the game whatsoever. Go become a cop, fireman or join the military if you have a uniform fetish. Your life must be very trivial if these are the things that occupy your free thoughts. Get a life.

I beg to differ. Wearing the wrong uniforms (albeit as a result of the NCAA mandate in place at the time) no doubt led to the premature exits of Jerry Stovall, Mike Archer and Curley Hallman, who found out they couldn't win consistently in that cursed purple/gold/purple combination.
