My mother in law was born on Ireland and brought over as a baby.

Her grandmother followed her husband who came over a few months earlier to get established.

They had nothing.

I found pictures of her grandmother's hometown in Ireland when she was a young lady around the time my mother in law was born.

Had it colorized and framed to give to her.

Edit: she wants to go one day but it may be a long time from now.

Just finished building mine a combo Christmas/anniversary greenhouse. Third one I've built so far in this marriage--prior two were at rent houses, so this should be the last.

Still have to wire it up with power and plumb it with running water, but it was complete enough to move in the plants for the freeze.

I grabbed a Ruby solitaire right-hand ring to match a pendant necklace and earrings she has.

My wife and I aren’t getting each other much. Neither really need anything and would rather spend money on our daughter. I got my wife one of those trailers for her bike so she can take our daughter on rides (she’s been talking about wanting one) and a few small things I know she wants. Nothing big, but that’s not important to us anymore.

A day at a spa and arrange for childcare the whole day with someone she trusts, even if it's you.

Nothing, really. We basically swapped $150 bucks, she used hers toward a Swatch moonwatch. I got mine in the form of an Amazon gift card. I've bought a couple of books, a couple of cds and a movie so far. Still have about $45 bucks left. We spent $2000 on a kitten last month, so that pretty much covers Christmas.

I asked for slippers. First winter in an off the ground home with old wooden floors - my feet are always freezing.
