Didn’t get the CBs and DTs from high school. But getting them in the portal will workout better. Harris is better than Ricks as far as LSU is concerned. Yesterday worked out. Let Ricks play the NIL game.

Can we all agree that being ranked 6.5 in a new HC’s first year in conference after key relationships with HS coaches were destroyed by the former HC is pretty damn impressive.

Kirby and Saban have been entrenched in their programs for years… it’s not apples to apples. Give BK a few more cycles before bitching like a little shite.

Let me tell you why you’re wrong.
2017,2018 and 2019 we were ranked 7,15 and 5 and put together the greatest football team ever. Recruiting Rankings don’t matter. ND is in the top 5 every year, what do they have to show.

Outlier. Look at the consistent playoff teams and check their recruiting rankings. And you can’t pluck out one year and not the others. They went 1 below .500 in 2020 and 2021 with those classes.

Wrong - objectively.

Inaccurate. More like 10-12. And when they play elite talented teams, they have gotten outclassed. It’s why their coach came to lsu.

I’ll take a guaranteed #5 class every year with this staff.

I understand what you saying but he got this years roster to a SEC Championship… let that sink in for a minute…

Composite that 2019 team, u have to have a little luck, we had O , a transfer QB, 2* WR, transfer TE, patchwork low ranked OL, moving forward we have a Elite ranked OL, Elite WR class, 3 highly ranked TEs, 5 different 5*s and the best Coaching staff in about 20 years WE WILL BE FINE

OU and Texas gonna' be stacked in 2025. SEC West, or whatever it looks like in the near future, is going to be one tough schedule.

Your point is valid regarding the extras those schools get especially on the O and D line but our slotting in these rankings has always been consistently between 4-7. Why does it have to change now? Les actually recruited up most of his time(with a #1 and couple of #2) and it did squat to keep Bama from becoming a dynasty.

Now this is one that isn't gonna sit well. We are what we are and have always been since 2000. A program that is always on the cusp and among the most talented in the country but always a coach, QB or OL away from breaking through. Every 4 or so years we breakthrough and have a contending season actually winning one every now and then. A consistent top of the polls winner has never been what we are. Les had the greatest run our program has ever seen and yet half our base hates him. Why do we deserve better? Half of us certainly don't act like we deserve more. The unwarranted entitlement some in our base have is really strange. Potential to be and the reality of actually being are not one in the same. We have always remained stuck in the potentially category. And if we stay conservative in NIL we will continue to be

Also didn't thoroughly read your post so I guess I'm agreeing with you

This isn’t going to be a well received post but if we want to be a consistent playoff participant versus a once every 4-5 years we’re going to have to do a little bit better.

Playoff is expanding to 12 teams, so that doesn't mean a whole lot moving forward.

You don't want to hear this: But LSU, at its best, is competing for a championship every 4-5 years. Keep this in mind when you pretend like LSU has ever in it's history competed for championships year after year in football.

Every team in the 3rd - 8th place is a count hair away from one another in total recruiting points. In fact LSU is closer in point to the #3 team Texas than #3 Texas is to #2 Georgia.

We've added transfer rated: Denver Harris - 96 Aaron Anderson - 92

Also both these were 5 stars last year out of high school. Are they gonna go back and rerank classes? Lol..numbers are skewed if your classes are transferring 1-2 years from signing

Let CBK get his roots dug in and he will build on these classes year after year and we will be right back in the top 5 year in and year out. Just like he is restoring LSU as a powerhouse in the SEC.

Good thing what you think doesn’t amount to a damn thing. How about let the guys who handle these things handle them and we wait and see what they do with it?

We have no idea what’s done and said behind closed doors and Kelly has proven that he can beat Saban with a less talented team.

The portal is looking like it’s here to stay and will be a part of many teams and supplementing recruiting classes for the near future.

Kelly knocked that out of the park again

Isn’t the point of getting Kelly to do just that though? UGA was in the same boat until they weren’t.

There ain't much differnce in the top 10....depends on development of players and who really loves football.

That 2017 class our GOAT Class and it was ranked 7th.

Yep, that class absolutely crushed it as far as impact players from top to bottom.

And, speaking of impact players from the 2017 recruiting cycle, see this LINK. LSU had exactly 1 player on that list, #26 Jacoby Stevens. It's loaded with Bama and Ohio State commits.

Those teams were talented, poor roster management and program direction is what 2020 and 2021 were about.
