Forgive my ignorance, but what is Guidry's injury and when is he expected to be healthy?
Shoulder injury. He will be good to go for the spring

Taylor, Skenes, Hurd, and Floyd are 4 pitchers that could each be in the everyday rotation. I think at the end of the year we will see our Pitching staff be a lot fresher because of it too.

Instead of having any of them pitch midweek, I'd like to see them skip starts when they can to keep them fresh for the post season. You run into a (relatively) weak patch of conference series and let one of the 4 take three consecutive weekend starts subbing in for each of the other three. Keep some wear and tear off the arms and make sure all 4 have good starting experience for the postseason.

obvious to all, but word from inside LSU athletics admin is that this is the best LSU team of all time on paper. A LOT more goes into it (health/getting hot at right time/etc). But this should be a very good spring for LSU fans.

I was fortunate to witness the golden age of LSU baseball. Was so fun to watch. I am so excited for this coming season. This team is loaded and the future looks great for the tigers.

Regarding pitching, I don't think it can be overstated what a great hire Coach Wes Johnson will be as pitching coach...

LSU's pitching staff is learning under one of the best in the game...

This was exactly my thought process as well. I would just rotate the 4 in the 3 game week so each one pitches a Friday, Saturday, Sunday and then rests the next weekend maybe use a bullpen session depending on their pitch count from the week prior.

Two SEC series I'm looking forward to already:

1) Mar 17 @ A&M
2) Mar 30 vs Tenn

After last season against A&M, and because Vitello sucks

Mikie Matook 's pod cast has been running interviews with the players & those of the pitchers have been especially enlightening. They all rave about how baseball intelligent Coach Wes is & how much they are learning from him. The hitters are all saying the lineups, regardless of who bats where, will be "unbelievable " ( the word used by several ).

Over the last five years, spring scrimmages have started as early as Jan. 17 (2017) and as late as Jan. 30 (2021). I don't have any info on this year's first scrimmage, as yet.

This was what I was thinking, too, except use the guy who is skipping a start in a high leverage relief appearance, and have him throw 40 or 50 pitches if one of the starters struggles.

Wouldn't surprise me if Grant Taylor took that roll. Had an amazing off-season and he's sitting at about 97 with his fastball.

Practice doesn’t start until late Jan
I think about three weeks before season

Most players are likely in town now working out on own and classes start after mlk day
