Some people in this thread are soft.
They should have went to school when I did when teachers put their hands on students.
Nothing worse than a pissed off Catholic nun!

Peaked in high school is a phrase softies use.
This guy might mail it in most of the time but he’s 100% on the money here and trying to get through to a class that over half won’t turn in their work.

Isn't CE Byrd mostly white?

Turn the dang music off. They curse every word in some of their music. Examples ain't working. Society as a whole is pretty bad. He told them the truth but he will be fired. No one likes the truth only convenient lies. Gets you the society we got in Shreveport, which is bottom of the barrel. It is what it is.

I'm sure most teachers never reach this level, but sometimes it is necessary. 50% of kids fail and school system will blame the teacher when they turn no work in. Have you ever been in a classroom as a teacher? Go sit in a class sometime and come back an let us know what you think. Apathy is running rapid and administration blames the teacher when students are basically brain dead in class and do nothing.

once again GL24 you're talking out your arse. your opinions and comments don't apply to this topic, because you have no fricking idea what you're talking about.
hint: take the OT's advice, STFU.

The part about turning in your work to pass and 50% are still failing was pretty hilarious

I taught in an alternative school, 50% would have been generous.
You still had to pass them, which is why I went to a different career.

Nothing's mostly white in the Port City anymore.
Both Byrd & Shreve have some 'not great' neighborhoods in their district. Another surprising fact is that Byrd & Shreve are close to the same in enrollment, which means Byrd is down around 500 students and Shreve is up about 500.
ETA: Caddo Parish High Schools

Shreve: The total minority enrollment is 62%, and 42% of students are economically disadvantaged.

This is the American Education system in 2023. Entitled students spawned from entitled parents. They expect to show up and pass. Sometimes even less. And they can simply threaten to throw a fit on social media if they don't get what they want. And the school board and school administration will 100% of the time take the side of the entitled student/parents, never the teacher. It is why discipline does not exist.
Preach, brother. Your wife isn’t lying to you.
