You're part of the problem.

I worked at a restaurant downtown that served Chicken and Watermelon as a special some days. It was a popular special and always being a solid mixed crowd although it was hard to tell them the special with a straight face.

This is just manufactured outrage. Fried chicken and watermelon is delicious and the kids probably don’t even know or understand the old joke.

Or mashed potatoes and gravy. I'm not sure when a waffle became a good side with fried chicken but it seems like it was sometime in the past 15 years.

I was 10-11 years old before I found out watermelon and fried chicken were "black" foods. By that age, my brother and I had spit and squeezed enough watermelon seeds at each other to plant a 40 acre patch and eaten while flocks of fryers.

That sounds like an amazing lunch.

Did someone truly complain about this?

ETA: Also, how is chicken and waffles with watermelon "culturally insensitive." What is offensive about this?

It's a joke. The point is that these lefties perpetuate such imagery by falling over themselves to apologize for, "Inexcusably Insensitive" food items.

This white guilt nonsense is such horseshite.

I guarantee you the person complaining isn't black

I guarantee no one who ate the meal complained. That’s just a good lineup of food.

I mean, blacks in NY came up with this awesome combo. To me, it’s celebrating black culture. But when you’re always looking for racism, you’re going to find it (or conjure it).

Thank you. Black culture is awesome and enriching to our overall culture in America and the south, leave it up to the sky screamers to try and twist it into something else.

Hey look, it's everyone's favorite food vendor, Aramark.

quote:

According WABC, the school’s principal, David Johnson, placed the blame on food-service vendor Aramark, claiming the company had changed the hot lunch menu without informing the school. Officials said the original menu for Feb. 1 was Philly cheesesteak, broccoli, and fresh fruit.

And wait, look at this.

quote:

This isn’t the first time Aramark has been accused of perpetuating racial stereotypes. In 2018, New York University cut ties with the company after it included ribs, collard greens, and Kool-Aid on a special menu for Black History Month.

The faux outrage is a little annoying but man this whole thing seems like somebody at Aramark isn't quite right.

It sounds like the school is guilty of serving a decent lunch.
