Just curious, how many of you folks that don't want the court named after Dale Brown because he cheated, also believe we made a huge mistake firing Will Wade despite the fact that he was too sloppy to cover up his cheating?

You can not like Brown, but at least don't bring an argument that can be disproven in less than 10 seconds.

He also coached at LSU for 25 years and won four SEC Titles.

Dale won his first SEC championship in his sixth year Wade won his first in his second year.

You can not like Wade but to try to pretend that Wade was not a winner and had us on the right track is crazy.

Will Wade got fired for cheating, yet Dale Brown cheated and is getting his name on the court. This isn’t a difficult concept to understand.

Nope. The NCAA confirmed a booster Dr. Redfield Bryan paid Lester Earl. They did not implicate either Dale Brown or Johnny Jones in this violation.

SMU football players Craig James and HOF RbB Eric Dickerson were paid by boosters and they got the death penalty. Brown got Ron Abernathy here with Rudy. Money was exchanged on that occasion as it was with John Williams, and SEVERAL others who were driving nice cars and dressing to the hilt. INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL.

I grew up watching Dale Brown teams and I liked him as a coach. I didn’t like the way it all ended with him. But I will say this…

No one should have a court or a building named after them unless they have won national… not conference… championships, or they are a player who was recognized as the best in the nation at their sport.

The court should have no name. We should have higher standards.

People on here seem to think you have to shite on one coach if you like another better.

Dale Brown was a good coach, Will Wade was a good coach.

LSU was better under Brown than it had been in 20 years though it took him some time to get there. Times were different then.

LSU was better under Will Wade than it had been since Brady at a minimum. Some will say better than ever, whether anyone agrees or not there is a valid case to be made for that opinion. That happened very quickly under Wade, as is consistent with modern recruiting and player movement.

Here is an exact quote from a post I made just two days ago.

quote:

Sure. I'm willing to give him time, if you are willing to admit that Wade got a shite deal come tournament time. And he absolutely had LSU basketball going in the right direction

Why do you think that because I pointed out something that someone said as factually incorrect that it means I hated Wade? Some of you have a weird obsession that if you don't shite on Brown, then it means you hate Wade. It's possible for people to think both were solid coaches.

Oddly enough, I think they’re both very similar. Both took the job as young, energetic, and were very outspoken.

Both were great recruiters and largely considered players coaches. Both were targeted by the NCAA.

I love Dale and the program be built. He was absolutely a winner getting us 2 final fours and consistently competing with UK. Didn’t like how he tried to control it later.

At the same time am a big WW fan.

That’s a lot of win to not even have a championship game appearance

I suppose, if Woody remains AD, it will always be called the "Basketball Building". He keeps firing coaches who win national championships or ones with the potential to win championships.

Are you claiming Dale had no idea this was going on?

If your knock is that he has no national titles, that is fair. At least it's factually correct.
