What bothers me about the whole event is, what if instead of Bagley right there, it was some other innocent person just heading out to go work the night shift? Or a teenage boy heading back home after visiting his girlfriend, grandpa taking out the trash, etc.
The situation sucks all around but the cop should have exercised more discipline in pulling the trigger. That's easy to say from behind a computer and tougher to do in reality in that neighborhood at that time of night chasing a guy who you think may have a gun. Sucks all around.

Absolutely. You don't want cops running amok that have that little discipline.
