This was thread was prompted by some MLB teams extended beer sales to 8th inning due to the increased pace of play.

Wouldn’t this allow people to drink closer to the time to drive?

Private companies make private decisions about selling a product and you think it’s a restriction on freedoms.

Got it.

Why are you crying like a little snow flake? All that alcohol lowers your T, bro. Your estrogen is showing.

It’s a liability issue. What’s more American than litigation?

If the games worth watching, then I'm in the stands in the 4th qtr and not the 300 yd long beer line. If game sux or already decided at that point, I'm at the tailgate with my own free white cans and no beer line.

I can't think of anything more American than the responsible capitalism of cutting off the alcohol sales at a stadium. Why do you want overpriced beer from the stadium when they are trying to clean up? You can't wait half an hour til your next drink?

in principle, yes

in reality, no

people have to drive home to leave the sporting event, so it effectively reduces how drunk everyone driving home is

Yeah, it really is. If they were more American, sporting venues would give out free shots on the way out the gate after the event so DUI victims could sue the venue, the mascot, the team owner, and the concessions.

Yes, but some teams are trying to make up for the loss in sales, since the games move by quicker. The brewers and a few other teams have extended sales into the 8th inning

Which is why having a cutoff time is absurd. Its the equivalent of wearing a mask into a restaurant but it being ok to take off when you sit down

How many restaurants or bars has this happened to?

Someone has never heard of dram shop liability or been to Texas where that is huge.

Absolutely pathetic. Can’t buy a beer after the 7th inning or 3rd quarter because its too close to the the time to leave?

Yet I can stop at a bar or restaurant and pound as many as I’d like after. Absolutely ridiculous.

First off, this world had prohibition at one point, with supposedly harder men.

Second, every where i have been cuts off at some point other than casinos. And im guessing you never lived in a area where all alcohol sales stopped at 11:45 pm on Saturday.

Probably due to high alcohol consumption.
