I agree. This team needs a coaching change.

Boy they really pissed that one away. Very average effort on the field and definitely in the dugout.

4 hits in 9 innings and Shutout again. How many is that in sec play?

We are now 1-5 vs teams in the upper half of the conference

We have Miss St next but last two vs Alabama and Georgia isn’t good

Doesn't matter, they'll lose the Regional to a Mid-Major.

That is the thrill of victory if you win and the agony of defeat if you lose in a three game series. It all turns on one play.

Here is my prediction. I’m not saying I agree if it turns out this way, but just my gut feeling. This team is 7-8 in the SEC. Better Torina teams have finished around .500 in the SEC.

If this team kinda holds serve, hosts a Regional, and makes a Super, I think Beth’s job is safe, even if they get crushed in the Super on the road. The excuse Beth’s supporters will use will be the injuries to Carson and Pleasants, plus the number one recruit coming aboard.

I think Woodward accepts that and I just don’t feel he will want to make a change, but will watch closely for one more year. Now granted, if this team slips, travels again for a Regional, and doesn’t make a Super, then Scott is sitting up straight in his chair.

But my guess is, with Beth’s normal postseason, she’s safe one more year even though Scott has to know reaching a Super is her ceiling. If Scott has any conscious thought about his softball coaching situation this off-season, it’s probably to see how the Torina regime handles SEC play with Oklahoma and Texas coming aboard.

So not saying I agree, but barring a total collapse to end this season, I don’t see the Torina regime being shown the door before the end of the 2024 season.

Is she hitting & pitching?

Well, she recruited them and she is responsible for their best effort. And its no use blaming the ump. He only missed 3 strikes that were called balls that put one runner on base.

Pleasants injury is killing this team. We need her to get back closer to full strength and we will be fine. Pitching is there hitting HAS been there but team is still adjusting to losing their best player on the team

Dobson and Leftwich have to go.
Time to bring new ideas and true expertise to those positions including the recruiting of the non pitcher positions.
I still remember how the US Olympic team suddenly couldn’t bat costing them the Gold Medal under Dobson’s coaching. I also remember Amanda Sanchez, a great hitter that transferred in her last year to LSU and she never could hit under Dobson’s as she used to before.

So you and Beth’s supporters basically are encouraging to let what happened to Miles football program and Pawls baseball program happen to softball. Just good enough, barely missing the mark and getting one more year after year because of some excuse.
Or cut ties now hire a good coach which Woody does. Bring some excitement back to the program that has been stale for years. Look how that’s worked out for the football and baseball programs. Beth has milked this cow about as dry as Nikki did. TIME TO MOVE ON.

Need to judge her on past also. The program is showing no improvement. How can we be satisfied just making a regional? This team is finishing in the middle or the bottom half of the Sec. Wonder what Torina salary rank in the SEC

Ok I get it but we need to stop using this excuse

For years it was LSU had a young team. Beth finally has her senior/veteran lineup top to bottom that she had been wanting for years and they are still the exact same. We are not terrible by any means but not very good either. I want for Beth to do well but she doesn’t have any intentions of ever making a change to help this program get over the hump offensively

And look, I don’t know. It’s just guesswork coming from me. But we are either badly missing on some of these recruits or something else is wrong.

But Macy Bergeron was an absolute monster hitter in high school. It’s just hard to believe she gets to LSU and her bat goes totally silent where she has to be benched.

Can you read, dumbass? I said nowhere in my post what I WANT to happen this off-season. In fact, I think any long term followers of LSU softball who post regularly on the game threads can tell you how I feel from what I’ve posted the last couple years.

But for review, I said I was posting what I THINK will happen, regardless of my personal feelings. The AD’s office has a phone and an email address, so I suggest you make your feelings known to them.

At worst if she wants to coach at LSU she needs to bring in new coaches. The program is stale and average. Good pitching but bad defense and hitting. It’s been that way for awhile.

Beth leaves hitting up to Dobson and he obviously is just not getting it done here at LSU! If Beth wants to keep her job she needs to get a better hitting coach! He has not come close to delivering a good hitting team since he has been here. Surely Beth sees that, if she can’t then down she goes
