Someone ask Brother Martin/LSU former pitcher David Miller his thoughts on the matter…
“…led the Crusaders to the 1996 Class 5A state championship, where he pitched 17 innings of scoreless baseball in less than 30 hours…”

I don’t know him, so fill me in please. Did he have an injury?

Yeah, and coaches used to not allow kids to have water outside causing all sorts of dehydration and deaths.
Point is we know a lot more and adults making the decisions should know better than to abuse kids arms and bodies.

Also, speaking of injuries, I looked up Jaden Hill and he is really struggling this year. 0-4 with a 9+ ERA. I thought he was going to be a great one.
He is also bigger than I remember. Listed at 235lbs.

LSU bio
Talented pitcher who should see action in 2002 after missing the past three seasons with an elbow injury … red-shirted in 1999 due to the injury; he underwent reconstructive surgery on the elbow in May, 1999 … continued his rehabilitation during the 2000 and 2001 seasons, and was granted a sixth year of eligibility for 2002

I mean it was 1996, not 1966.

College baseball now vs 1996 is almost a different sport.

Any competitor would do this. Skenes would do this if it was up to him. It’s up to the adults in the room aka the coaches to look out for the players at time.

Threw 480 innings in 4 years, with should surgery mixed in. Kid was a horse.

And on cue, Texas brings in their ace in the 8th who threw 110 pitches 2 days ago.
