Anyone here have any experience with Taos or Red River, NM? Heading to Red River with some family during Mardi Gras. Planning to ski 4-5 days. For anyone that's been...is it worth the hour+ drive from Red River to Taos to ski for a day there? Or should I just stay at Red River the entire time?
I've only ever been to Colorado and Wyoming for skiing, so any advice is appreciated!

Kicking off the season next week, heading up to Banff. Been a few years since I was last there. Looks like the last storm cycle has been very good to them, almost 30 inches in five days.

I had a great time skiing at Taos to the point that I'm going back this season. Mt Kuchina is great if you're an expert skier.

I think it’s definitely worth the drive to do for a day. Red River and Angel Fire, at least to me, tend to get boring after 2 days. Taos has some really fun runs and for just an hour drive is worth experiencing and adding to your list of been there done that. Nice on mountain German restaurant too.

Taos did a bunch of upgrades over the summer to their lifts so should be better than before which was cool.
I have never seen so many people skiing in jeans as I did my time at Taos a few years ago.
