New car tire question - found a nail in the tire; how long will the tire last after patch?

Bought new set of tires yesterday from Costco. Left for Disney World this morning and noticed a tire pressure was low. Immediately called Costco and they said to bring it in to check.
They found a nail and said they could repair it MAYBE today. (frickers)
I’m having to call around town to see if someone can take care of it immediately.
What kind of reliability can I expect for this kind of repair job? Can it handle 9 hours to Orlando? Will it last the life of the tire?
Just curious to what I should expect.

That shouldn’t be a problem. Why not plug it yourself?

Should last as long as the tire

Side of tire, it is done
Tread of tire, haggle with Costco for replacement (I think they have a warranty included)

Every tire I've ever had patched lasted as long as the other 3

Find a discount tire and let them handle it

I have had several nails patched by Costco and the tires are going on maybe 5 years. No issues.

Good to hear. I’m lucky to have never had a tire issue before, but here I am.

They dont have hazard protection on those? Usually like 30 day warranty, if not a patch should be fine. I did that in December when I got a flat, still driving good.

Life of tire
Get a plug kit from a DG and do it yourself
It is very very easy
You'll be on the road in 5 min

All the tires I have ever plugged, or my father has ever plugged, lasted the life of the tire.

IMHO plugs hold very well if done correctly. I’ve plugged many over the years.

Discount Tire will patch it for you for free…and do it pretty quick.
Or you could be a man and plug it yourself and be on your way.

Remove the tire from the vehicle and bring it to them and tell them you can wait for it. Most times you are waiting in line to put your car on a lift and there are people waiting in front of you. A loose tire can be expedited because they are not tying up their lift for a simple job.

Legally, a tire store can’t repair a spot on the sidewall. If the mail is in the tread, make sure they pull the tire and patch it and not just plug it. A patch will last as long as the tire.

Lotts people here saying to plug but I would take to a tire shop and get a legit patch. Especially with new tires and especially a car I'm driving my family in.
And fyi I plug holes in my truck tires several times a year.
