Lol god this post is so fricking stupid.

It’s just a discussion. I highlighted some positives and negatives. Boston is fun, but the stereotypes on certain views are true.

It makes me wonder if people from up here go to the South and come away thinking the same things.

Look, if you don’t like the northeast that is entirely fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

But this statement is just asinine.

They're not "my studies." Tell it to the University of California at Berkeley, which did the first study I looked at. Just because you dislike the information, doesn't mean it's wrong.

I enjoy certain aspects of the NE, such as walkability and/or the availability of public transport, as well as the unique cultures of each city. I could never in my life live up there.

Baltimore to NYC sucks and have some of the worst people I’ve ever met. Funny enough I’ve met some really awesome people from Philly though (well, the outlying suburbs). Most of the folks I met from Baltimore have a shitty sense of humor and are mostly miserable and live for the weekend trips to Ocean City and Dewey Beach.

Never been to Boston but really want to go. I can appreciate their self awareness of being massholes and they seem like fun people.

I live in southwest PA and grew up right across the border in northern WV. I've seen more Confederate flags in southeast Ohio than I have pride flags in the whole tri-state area.

It clearly does not show that NYC is the most segregated city in the U.S., which was the claim. Are you playing horseshoes?

By the way, I just went back and listened to the podcast, and it doesn't claim what you said that it claimed. The interviewee claims that nationally, all school systems are more segregated today than in 1960 (may or may not be true, who knows).

She also claimed that NYC is the most segregated school system in the country (again, may or may not be true). If that is true, it's relatively easy to understand why.

I did. The UC Berkeley study I read said number one. The one you posted said number nine. I've seen other studies with NYC as the most segregated. You can quibble about rankings, but it is firmly established that NYC is highly segregated. You claimed the study I referenced was flawed. Yet you posted the same researcher. Were they flawed with the study I looked at but not the one you looked at? You also made the claim that the other poster was lying. Clearly that isn't the case.
