Herniated Disc Surgery

Anyone have traditional or laser surgery to repair a herniated disc? Up until last two years, I would aggravate it once or twice a year, so it was easy to deal with. Now, it seems like I’m tweaking my back every month. Anyway, have an appointment to see a back doctor in BR and wanted to hear if anyone had experience with either.
