Their main problem appears to be getting consignments. As of today, they only have 350 lots listed on their website for a three day auction. I would expect this to be more around 700 to 800 for them to make a decent profit. By comparison, Mecum Auctions had almost 1,600 actual cars at their four day event in Dallas last weekend. Based on that alone, I wouldn't expect to see them coming back.
This is the same problem they had in Houston and they actually had a larger number of cars at their Houston auction last year, but didn't return. They put on a good event in Scottsdale, but they can't figure out how to replicate it elsewhere.

I mean, there are only so many vehicles out there. The number of auctions they're all having now has to suck up that supply. Factor in that people may be choosing to sit on them right now due to the economy, and this being a new show with a lot of unknowns going into it, consignments not rolling in is easy to understand.

Mecum also has a lot of 'garbage' cars in their docket.
Fwiw, I dont see nola being a yearly stop. They could just be using their 4th event of the year as a rotating site between a few places.
