1. Mason Smith: he had every opportunity to step into a leadership role this group definitely needed.

2. Sage Ryan: should've commit and played for ULL, he'd be great in the sunbelt

Perkins. He should be the leader of this defense

Yeah you’re missing Perkins…. That dude is average as hell out there. Which I definitely don’t think he is as a player so that tells you one thing… this coaching staff is failing this team.

The biggest let down for me is giving up so many 2nd and long and 3rd and longs; 117 in the country in 3rd down defense. Not a winning formula.

Smith and Perkins. Mason is not in shape and Perkins is playing not to get hurt for the NFL.

Maason Smith is still not 100% plus he's out of shape from going through rehab and not being able to run or condition. I said on here last September when he had ACL surgery that a guy that size blowing out his knee was not going to be back to normal until November-ish and got downvoted all to hell on here by all the resident ortho doctors.

you may be right but he hasn't even shown flashes of greatness. If he is that out of shape and not 100% he shouldn't see the snaps he does...which makes me think he looks better in practice for the coaches to play him.

He’s not played well but I don’t think it’s because he sucks or was overrated. It’s hard for guy his size to return to full form after a significant knee injury.
He probably needs a bit less playing time, but he doesn’t warrant some of the hate he’s getting either.

We’re 117th in the country on defense after 5 games. That’s the biggest let down.

Same with where we rank in turnovers, negative plays, TFLs, sacks, and 3rd down stops. It’s all horrible

Starts and ends with Matt House. Then the void at DL coaching and tackling
