2022 Roster Losses...

Looks like BK got it right last year in the portal but inherited good D-line talent from O.
Players win games, not coaches. Same coaches from 2022 in 2023. Offense is obviously the beneficiary of consistent roster.

Secondary was so much better last year

Coaches can lose games with a bad call or two. No bad call or scheme has 34 missed tackles.
Ever coached a little league team that has no chance from a roster? That's this defense, not just in the secondary either.

simple fact is that the DB talent in the portal (especially safeties) was better than it was this year, and it's showing on our roster

We also missed on a few guys like Fentrell Cypress and Braden Fiske who both ended up at FSU. A good CB and and good DT could be the difference between the D we see and a middle of the pack D that gets enough stops to let this offense win games.

Ward was an under rated player. Composite 3 star that ended up being a multi-year starter.
