33 years with Shell Oil/Chemical. Retired at the age of 54 with a pension and post retirement health insurance. The key to retiring early is to be debt free. No mortgage and vehicles paid for. It doesn’t take as much money as you think to live that way.

You should probably add that you need a home or condo that’s paid for.. Doesnt do much good to be debt free with no mortgage if you have no place to live .
