The story then cut to a scene of Robinson's graduation from Annapolis and he is head and neck taller than everyone else. ?

He was something like 6-7 and grew to over 7 feet while at Navy. Basically grew too tall for every sea or aviation billet. They found some shore based administrative positions for him when he was in active duty.

Met Huey Lewis in ‘85 at a San Francisco food bank benefit in Golden Gate Park. I was wearing an A’s cap and he came up to me told me about his friend Dave Kingman who was with Oakland at that time. Nice guy with a somewhat loud, booming voice.
Didn’t meet him but I had front row seats at a very small venue he played about 10 years ago. His voice (speaking and singing) is incredible. It sounded the exact same as it did on his albums 30 years earlier. He is a total pro’s pro of an entertainer. Best concert in terms of overall value and exceeding expectations I’ve ever been to.

I'll always believe that it was him who paid for the funerals of all of the Uvalde victims.

He's a good dude.

If you go to golf tournament practice rounds you will quickly learn which golfers are good dudes and which aren’t as much. It’s a very revealing profession.

I literally was the only person following Tom Lehman for a stretch of holes at a practice round for the 2013 British Open. He initiated conversation with me. Nice guy. John Daly is awesome but everyone knows that. Fowler always struck me as distant (maybe uncomfortable with fame).

If Phil isn’t a nice guy, he puts on a tremendous act.

Working at rhe ER in the old Doctors Hospital in BR off College by I10 in 1982. in comes Ozzy Osborne passed out on a gurney. Had to have his stomach pumped out. O Z Z Y tattooed under his knuckles. Had to have him sign the paperwork after he was revived. His handlers paid the bill from a large roll of %100 bills.

Ric Flair: super cool

Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer: super cool

Jonny Cochran: super cool

Johnny Rotten: nice enough

Grimes: nice enough

Veruca Salt girls: super cool

Bassist for the Silversun Pickups: huge a-hole

Met every LSU coach going back to Archer, who was super nice. Hallman was just kind of there. Dinardo nice but seemed stressed af. Saban was polite but looked like he’d rather be doing anything else in the world but shaking my hand. Miles was eh but I caught him the night before the Bama game in the Ops building so I give him a pass. O very nice. Kelly also very nice.

Will Clark refused to give autographs to any kids at the Astrodome circa 1989. Terry Puhl stepped up and signed all autographs.

Was a busboy at a place in BR years ago (91 or so) where Clark was part of a group dinner. Told the bartender to basically frick off for asking for an autograph. So I kept his coffee spoon and sugar packet.

My dad got dugout seats for a Twins game, so me and my sister were trying to get autographs. My sister decides to throw her glove down into the dugout and beams Chuck Knoblauch in the head. He signed it.

At a Timberwolves game, we had floor seats at the entrance, Kevin Garnett comes by so I'm trying to get an autograph, he signs the kids next to me and starts to walk away. I grab his jersey and he turns around and gives me the worst death stare I've ever gotten. I didn't get the autograph.

Me and a couple of friends ran into Tommy Shaw back in the 80's. Super cool dude. He talked with us for about 30 minutes about the music biz. He happened to be dating Linda Blair at the time. We had run into her and the rest of Styx in an elevator. They all tried to pretend they didn't see us.

Chevy's mother's stepfather was Cornelius Vanderbilt Crane. This is just one old money ancestor of his. Chevy is basically descended from a bunch of rich motherfrickers who settled Manhattan Island. Plus he was an early member of Steely Dan.

Billy Powell, original pianist for Lynyrd Skynyrd walked into a restaurant I was working at about 15 or 20 years ago. I politely said, good evening Mr Powell, how are you? He looked at me confused as hell and genuinely stunned before replying with “how do you know my name”? I quickly replied with because you play piano for Skynyrd, how could I not? (Stopped myself from saying I recognized his iconic mullet) The guy had toured the world for decades as a key member of the band, survived a plane crash and was just completely dumbfounded anyone knew who he was. It wasn’t like he was in some rural town in nowhere North Dakota either, it was Birmingham Alabama. Super nice guy, just sat at the bar wearing aviator sunglasses and drinking dirty martinis.

Saw Shaq once at the Lod Cook area at LSU. Super nice guy, and his shoes were probably twice the size of mine.
