Food inflation over the last couple of years has been insane.

But the grab and go rotisserie chicken at the local grocery store is still $6.99 and has been for almost two decades

Nilla Wafers are delicious, an essential component of banana pudding.

If they were Nilla you overpaid by $1.50.

They probably bought the jumbo box at Sam's Club.

Was in a bind and stopped by Taco Bell for two soft taco supremes on the road home. Dangerous as it may have been the sticker shock puckered up my arse to ensure a complete drive home…. I rounded up and she goes. That will be 7 dollars. frick.. I remember when they were .79 cents. Not 2.89 .. sorry muchachos.. the Bell is no longer an option..

Middle to upper class seems fine paying these prices. Just going to cause prices to increase.

It's not inflation that is fricking us, it's industry. They're killing with with the narrative. And we bite.

If you penny pinch, just get the Great Value or Always Save Generic Brands. Most are made in the same factories on a different shift and are nearly exactly the same recipe.

Yesterday I needed some peeled potatoes in a can. The Libby’s was 1.49 a can, so Rouses has the House Brand for 1.15.

But I looked some more and Rouses had the Always Save brand for 89 cents.

As devotees of homemade pudding with just slightly overripe bananas, we've found that Aldi's have a very good price on vanilla wafers. (I have made them from scratch - even cheaper- without allowing for cost to clean up and heat the oven).

That and banannas still being .59 a pound for like five years are a few of the mysteries to me with how the prices are staying low.

My buddy paid $27 for an oyster poboy at some tourist trap in the quarter the other night.
