If you watch other teams it's really not a bad deal to get the MLB.tv for the year and then find a cheap VPN to pay monthly.

Fortunately for me, there are no complaints in my house if I throw on an east coast game until 7 and then put the Astros on and I love to fall asleep on the couch so some nights will throw on a west coast game until I'm asleep. But to everyone's point there should be a much simpler option to watch a team that's 4 hours away from where I live.

This is the route I went last year. I did have to change from Nord to ExpressVPN late in the year as none of the Nord addresses were working for a while.

I think what I plan to do is try to just use stream sites for the first month and by about mid May or so they do a price drop on MLB.tv. I don't want to try to rely on stream sites the whole year but if I can use them for the first month and get that discount, I'm good with it.

McCullers and Garcia out until the second half of the season. McCullers is a waste of space

Repeat of the off-season last year. Putting eggs in the extremely risky pitcher baskets. This team and org is extremely thin in starting pitching already. Counting on a 40 year old, a couple of rookies, a guy whose velo was way down and 2 guys coming off surgery at mid year is a recipe for failure

Fragile Fram is the most dependable arm we have. Let that sink in.

Idk what yall are worried about. A 41 year old pitcher having shoulder soreness before spring training has even started doesn't seem like a big deal.

JV had a shoulder discomfort issue in spring training of last year too. Ended up being a shoulder strain and he missed the first month of the season.

I'm not sure about our rotation this year. There's potential but a lot of questions. JV is 41, Health might be an issue. Javi did not have a good followup to his breakout year, Brown had an ERA over 5 as a rookie, Urquidy..meh. Framber is reliable but last year seemed more prone to his mental episodes.

I'm very hopeful in a big bounce back year for Javier.

The WBC added so much early strain to his arm, that you've got to believe a full offseason of rest is going to bring him back to his 2022 form.

I would have the same feelings about Framber if he wasn't such a basket case too. But added rest cant hurt and maybe a new catcher behind the plate will help him stiffen up some since he won't have nanny Maldonado to make him feel better.

I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but I thought JP France and HB both pitched better with Yainer at catcher. I know for a period there the stats were disproportionately in favor of Yainer, but that may have changed over the course of the full season.

Overall, cautiously optimistic for the starting staff.

When the season starts, what will our rotation look like?

1) Framchise
2) JV
3) Javi
4) Urkel
5) Brown

That’s my guess.

We’ll be facing Cole. Gotta think we’ll be big favorites given how well we play at home.

One silver lining is that if he starts the season shelfed for a few weeks his '25 option won't vest

In all seriousness, he will be needed for October more than anything. Rangers are in worse shape starting pitching wise than Houston even if they re-sign Montgomery. Mariners have an elite staff but still not sold that offense will hunt.

There are six off days between the start of the season and May 6th. That's some relative good news about easing JV along and not overexposing anyone in the bottom half of the rotation. Feel okay about a bounce back nice season for Javi, really looking to see Brown take a step forward think he got gassed and lost it mechanically towards the end there. Hopefully it's nothing and JV can slot in whenever he's ready and go but to everyone's point he is 41 and it's the second year in a row he's dealt with a shoulder so definitely some cause for concern.

I think this JV news all but seals the deal that he will not be Opening Day starter

And honestly, if he takes a little longer to be ready, it should pay dividends come playoff time

This is of course taking for granted he won't join McCullers in the Black Hole
