Because every time they try to lift it, Hamas tries to smuggle in weapons and tunnel-building equipment. Even humanitarian aid allowed through ends up in the hands of Hamas, who hoards much of it.
Don't want to be blockaded? Stop sending missiles over the wall. It's no more complicated than that.
Also, part of the "blockade" has been Egypt's locking down of its borders with Gaza. No one mentions that though because it doesn't fit in with the "evil Jews" narrative.

Literally no one wants the Palestinians, except maybe the Democrat Party of these United States. I just wonder how that will work out for them...

My opinion - If you love God, you must love and support Israel. Also, for those who have well placed sympathy for the Palestinian civilians, no country in that part of the world wants to take those people in, and their sworn goal over many years has been the total destruction of Israel. I could talk a pretty good argument for what Israel is doing. If they let Hamas off the hook, they will just start planning the next attack. Better to kill all of them (Hamas) if they can.
