He was her boyfriend on the show, not her sibling. Jason Priestley played her brother.

My older sister had breast cancer that metastasized eventually becoming bone cancer. She outlived her initial prognosis by a bit but her health basically fell off a cliff at the end and bone cancer is a bastard I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Near the end, even the weight of a sheet could cause her pain.

Hate how people can get the “remission” news only to find out down the road that the cancer is suddenly back and with a vengeance.

I'll always remember her as Jenny Wilder on Little House on the Prairie.

I had lymphoma with the surgery, bone marrow transplant, and chemo.
If I did not have young kids @ the time I was ready.
Got lucky, but sometimes you have to face the facts live the best life you can live while alive.

We get so used to cancer being curable, but every so often a young or middle-aged person dies from it and it’s a wake-up call that you can’t take a long life for granted. Lost a girl i went to school with, 40-ish, a few years ago. I just took for granted that she would beat it.

Unfortunately I know first hand there aren’t any clinical trials for bone cancer right now.

Terribly sorry for anyone undergoing any type of malignancy-incredibly difficult disease to battle, not only for the patient but for caregivers as well. Just to be accurate, this is not "bone cancer". This is breast cancer that has spread to the bones. There's a huge difference. Primary bone cancer (osteosarcoma) is entirely different from a cancer that has spread to the bones. May not seem to make any difference but treatment and prognosis are entirely different.

I know someone with lymphoma who did just this. Sees a doctor, but no standard chemo or anything. He’s still here some years later.
