So the states of Texas Arizona New Mexico California and Florida should be the only ones to deal with this? How stupid can you be, it is a national issue. Your Dem buddies have created this and should get to enjoy it.

The answer is to put 500,000 troops on all 2000 miles of the border. Secure it. Put obstacles / walls over the entire thing.

I'm going to go wwaaaayyyyy out on a limb and say that you probably are capable of finding a couple of brain cells to rub together long enough to remember that, once upon a time, when George Wallace called out the National Guard, President Kennedy simply federalized them.
Tell us, oh wise one, what the frick good it would do to call out the Guard when Biden would just federalize them.
I mean, seriously...you're calling people retarded in this thread, but you have to be pretty fricking stupid to think that any governor can just call out the National Guard to implement a policy that the President opposes.

In a different era, I might have dismissed this as grandstanding, but we have gotten to the point that things like this simply must be done if the federal government refuses to do its job of securing our southern border. It is manifestly outrageous that states can have their congressmen prevent the border from being sensibly enforced while leaving the burden of that refusal on places like southern Texas, New Mexico, etc.

The Texas State Guard should be mobilized. They have been mobilized before, such as in 2022 when 6,000 were sent to the border. It should be done again. They should also work to better compensate, better equip and increase recruitment efforts of the state guard. This is not a new problem. No one in Texas, especially the governor, should be surprised with the need for Texas to have an independent force to protect their southern border. He should also make an attempt to mobilize the National Guard and force the Biden administration to fight that battle with him publicly. In addition:

In the past 2 years, 4-5 million immigrants have been caught at the border or escaped capture at the border. Those are the ones we know about. The ones captured were released IN in the US. America is being invaded and your answer to that is to take those people and ship them to "democrat" cities to sour those voters on lax border policies, in the hope that Trump can pull out a win in 2024.
How many times are we going to ignore the fact that the illegal immigrants who come to America eventually turn states blue? Sure, Texas and the Southwest may be completely blue in 20 years, but let's stick it to the dems so we can maybe pull out a win in 2024.

The state governor has the authority to shut down immigration at the state border. He can also authorize the state guard to deny entry to anyone deemed hostile. Is it going to be perfect? no. But it's a start. And it's better than what we have now.
You're also completely missing the point here if you think this is about dems being soft at the border. The big money behind republican politicians (especially in border states) is completely in favor of flooding the country with more cheap labor.
