Atkins would be an interesting hire. You obviously run the risk of a young guy not sticking around though

That’s a risk you have to take. Tulane is a stepping stone.

I’d rather somebody who will set the world on fire with one foot out the door, than settle for someone who “won’t leave us”

I’m grateful for what Willie’s done, but I just don’t get that move for him. He must figure Tulane is going to be rebuilding next year post-Pratt anyway so he may as take the money.

But Houston? All the fascination with Power 5 jobs, and he goes to a school that shared a conference with Tulane for the last 25 years?

He can’t be making that much more money or think he has a better shot at making the CFP.

Blake Baker seems like a viable option from the outside.

Sad news, but not unexpected. Only hope was that UH didn’t offer.

I’m hoping for Sumrall, keep Shiel, then can Nagle and get a stud up and coming OC

This is totally a guess but I could see Jimbo Fisher doing good there. Am I crazy?

Promote from within coming up

There we go! Promote up a position coach with zero coordinator experience to head coach just like we did right after our three most successful seasons in program history.

Tulane should hire Rich Rod.

It’s time to right past wrongs.

The female AD who chose to not give Rich Rod the job because she was mad Bowden left should have never been in that position.

Tulane is willing to pay up to $4.5 million per year to keep head coach Willie Fritz, sources tell FootballScoop. Fritz is a candidate for the open position at Houston. Many within college football view him as Houston's top choice for the job entering the weekend. Our John Brice

I'm a big fan of Alex Atkins.

That still might be risky for Tulane. I see them going with a sitting head coach.

You have watched him more than I have so I’ll take your word for it.

Yes. Jimbo Fisher isn’t going anywhere. He’s done working full-time.

Money won't be why he leaves - it will be conference affiliation and a head start on facilities.

If he wants to gamble and take a step up he will. If he just wants to drive a wagon until he gets a statue built, he will.

Wait and see.

I'm surprised he didn't get a bite from a bigger program. It's amazing what he's accomplished at Tulane.

In my opinion that would be the definition of homerun hire.
