They were beat out by two other undefeated teams

I didn't discuss anything about that.

The precedent of leaving out an undefeated BCS conference champ was set almost 20 years ago. It's not shocking if it happens again .

an undefeated P5 team being left out for a p5 team with a loss would indeed be shocking and there is zero precedent for it

A 1 loss SEC champion has never been left out of the playoff, that would also be setting a precedent.

ETA: people knighting for FSU, what’s their best win? Against the 5th ranked SEC team? It’s not like they have some amazing resume.

It would be absurd to leave them out. Like maybe I would understand if their OOC was terrible but they played LSU and UF. They did everything right. You do not leave them out bc of what you think may happen a month from now

I mean shutting down JD5 and LSU's offense at a neutral site can't be ignored just because it was early in the season.

They aren’t going to be left out if they win.

I’m not ignoring it, but if your best win is against the 5th ranked SEC team and everyone you’re comparing resumes with has better wins then you can’t really cry about it.

ETA: Bama is -350 to make the playoff, Texas is -280. This will probably be a moot argument because FSU will prove they don’t belong tonight by losing

Zero chance Alabama gets in without Texas in.

CFB just refuses to do what is done on every single level of football. Take your conference/ regional champions and put them in a playoff format and be done with it. A selection committee is and has been fricking stupid since its inception. You can pretty much take the same 7 or 8 teams and argue year round about their playoff chances because if you’re a lesser school it doesn’t matter what your record is. You’re not getting in.

They should. Almost every team in the top 25 would demolish FSU without Jordan Travis.

There is zero precedent for a 1 loss team getting in over an undefeated team.
