all I know is if LSU was in Alabama's position, this board would be SCREAMING that LSU deserved to get into the playoff.

That's how hypocritical most of this board is.

It wasn't just the committee's decision to exclude Florida State that drew criticism Sunday afternoon.

The group rewarded undefeated No. 23 Liberty with a New Year's Six bowl bid instead of two-loss No. 24 SMU, which beat a ranked team in its AAC title game. In addition to voting multiple times at the top of the ranking, the committee also voted repeatedly at the bottom, which pushed the morning meeting to its cutoff time of 11 a.m. CT. The results kept flipping between Liberty and SMU, but ultimately, the group deemed Liberty better.

Choosing Liberty over SMU is completely opposite of what they did for FSU and Bama. This committee is full of morons. Liberty was dead last in SOS this year and got a NY6

FSU's 2nd string QB isn't that good either, and the committee knows that. LSU wouldn't have been a top 4 team without Burrow either. The QB is the most important position, and very few teams have 2 star QBs, such that they would still be an equally great offense if their starter got hurt. FSU does have a very strong defense, but that offense is mediocre without Travis, so they are no longer one of the top 4 teams.

I don't know man . . . . FSU is much better than Auburn, who should've beaten Bama.

They would not do all this twisting and turning for anything else but to get the gumps in.

Neither did Cincinnati’s a couple of years back, but they got in because they were undefeated and won the American Conference. But they chose them.

Did you watch bama against Auburn? The team that needed a muffed punt and a 4&31 miracle against a team that lost to NMSU the week before. If that team showed up against FSU with their backup QB I’m not so sure who would win.

If UGA beats Bama, FSU is in over Texas.

In that scenario, wouldn't Texas be the 4th seed with Bama getting left out?

What's the damn difference when folks were running to see Bo "Checkdown" Nix to see if one game will determine his Hesiman push.

AND ignore the fact that FSU’s back-up will be back for the playoffs by focusing on FSU’s offensive performance against Louisville with a 3rd string QB per the quote above.

This is what is hardest to understand imo. IF they thought FSU wasn’t good enough to be in the top 4 with the backup, who as said will be back for the playoffs, then the committee would have dropped them out of the top 4 after the Florida game, which they won 24-15.

But I guess they justified it with the fact bama needed a miracle to beat auburn and FSU didn’t. And then they just totally reverse and completely ignore the previous week after the conference championship games.

They managed to neither get the best four or the most-deserving four. “disturbingly dumb” is well put

I would love to hear this explanation. Texas and Bama are well within reasonable and rational arguments for most deserving and best.

It's quite simple. The top four deserving teams would include Florida State over Texas. FSU went undefeated in a power 5 conference beating two SEC teams in the process. It's impossible to make a legit argument that they didn't deserve it. Texas lost to an inferior opponent (Oklahoma) and struggled with a couple of other teams with losing records. FSU deserves it more than Texas.

As for the four best teams... I welcome anyone to make a solid argument that puts Georgia out of the top four, much less at #6 where they are ranked.

As the other poster said, the committee got neither the four most deserving nor the four best teams.

and Michigan padded their schedule with East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green

instead of LSU and Florida

one has a SoS currently at 56, the other has one at 61.
very close to each other.

one gets to go all the way up to #1, the other is getting shite on.

Not to mention the fact that if the committee is ranking them on who THEY think is the best, and they think FSU backup is so bad, how do they justify putting FSU at 5? Hell, with their logic they should have dropped them completely out of the top 10. If they are going to take that stand, they should go all out with it.

FSU beat LSU and FSU didn’t get the nod-Imagine knighting for a team that said frick LSU all season. No amount of strongly worded letters or articles will change it. Time to move on.

Yeah, you’re right. There’s really no reason to actually play the games. You geniuses know what’s going to happen before it does.
Ipso facto, no need to have regular seasons.
In fact, we know Alabama always wins all the games that mean anything. So, no need to have playoffs.
Alabama is perpetual national champions and everyone can save so much time and money.
Now, on to baseball.

Nah, they aren't dumb. Corrupt? Absolutely. Dumb? No.

This is similar to fans that constantly stick up for SEC refs when they blatantly rig games for Bama. Incompetent? No. Corrupt? Absolutely. We've seen it for decades.

A whole bunch or teams would probably bear FSU with their backup QB. Since that's the case why was FSU only dropped to 5 because they're starting QB was out? Why not drop to 10-15ish?
