Texas A&M pursued LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock for the same position before pivoting to Kansas State's Collin Klein, sources told FootballScoop on Wednesday. Multiple outlets reported early Wednesday that LSU is finalizing a 3-year extension for Denbrock. The Broyles Award finalist signed a 3-year contract worth $1.5 million annually upon joining Brian Kelly's staff ahead of the 2022 season. Financial terms have yet to be released.

Well I guess BK is finished evaluation the Offensive Assistants and thought "Yeah that's pretty good"

I guess we wait another two weeks now that he starts evaluating the defense.

Make him put in writing that he won't pursue a HC job and that Joe sloan is his heir apparent!

It will be interesting to see what next year's offense looks like without Daniels. Removing 1,000 yards of scramble offense will make things more challenging on Denbrock. Less running lanes for the running backs and more DB's in coverage, if we go with Nuss.

Great news and not to make light of it, but they also put a deal together to keep Joe Brady

Only question is if Denbrock wants to be a head coach but at this point in his career I would say that's likely not gonna happen.

With continued success you are not keeping Sloan for three more years as he will get a chance to be a coordinator somewhere.

You can’t have both of those things at the same time. More DBs in coverage means more running lanes for our backs. Less running lanes means more LBers stopping the run which gives the WR openings.

I think you will see a more 2019 style offense where we have a good, but not great running back and we throw the ball like 60% of the time. Nuss will be more like 2018 Burrow though as it’ll be his first year starting.

Just throwing this out there, how much of the Offense success was due to coaching verses player talent and committment?

It's both as you have to develop talent to reach the elite mastery level of the scheme.

Wait, wait, wait. Removing the Heisman Trophy winner and his 2 NFL 1st round receivers will be more challenging? No way!!!

EXACTLY!!!! Last year the pitchfork & torch assclowns wanted Denbrock gone and swore we’d never win a game with him calling plays.

without talent and player commitment coaching is null and void...as great as Saban is if the players dont commit he'd look like a joke

Well the offensive line has gotten much better at blitz pickup which looks good for Davis and the development of Daniels looks good for Sloan. I liked how last year and early this year Denbrock made things really simple for Daniels with all the comebacks, hitch, and crossing routes. Once Daniels learned to let it fly Denbrock completely changed the playboook and let him start hitting receivers in stride, which in turn opened up more running lanes for him as well. I think that's a good reflection of his ability to adapt to what he has.

Also if you want to pitch that we're developing Heisman winners to recruits, it's important to retain your OC
