No you hire a young, offensive minded coach and hire him with the premise that a full rebuild will take place and we rebuild through the draft which gives the new coach a couple years to suck while the team gets younger and less expensive. Loomis really fricked us kicking the can down the road so long. That should have stopped in 2020 and we would be out of cap hell by now and have more young talent across the board.

Not really irrelevant. The chance that next years schedule is as easy as this year will be highly unlikely. So we’re getting a tougher schedule in some way.

its just flawed thinking, post Katrina they could have said "eh we're going to suck next season anyway, let's give Jim one more lame duck season"

I see no upside to bringing dennis back

No you should not get the chance to right the ship Dennis. You fired your defensive coordinators after one year, should have done the same with Pete.

Half a decade of losing records is enough to decide.

Everyone in the division plays the the same schedule, hence the schedule is a non factor

No not quite. There’s a big difference between playing the first and last place schedule.

I’m looking for Atlanta or Tampa to draft Jayden Daniels. Because that just how it goes

Meanwhile we have DA, a perfect tank commander.

They are losing the fan base so not sure that should be celebrated.

And yea, he was the perfect tank commander two seasons ago. They’ve made too many conflicting moves to pretend like the Saints are tanking correctly.

What the hell has Dennis Allen ever done to given an opportunity to right the ship?

Like one thing about his head coaching career that gives you even a trace of confidence he could turn it around?

You absolutely let DA stay, you reset the roster, trade anyone or anything with value and acquire as many picks as possible. Then after sucking in 24 we fire DA and let the new coach remake the roater

+1

Immediately after Brees ran to the tunnel kissing goodbye to a fan-less Superdome after the Tampa Bay loss is when we should have started cleaning up the books.

Loomis insisted on chasing that ghost.
