Couldn't tell you the habits of my fellow worshipers tonight. I was too busy standing, sitting, kneeling then standing, sitting, kneeling again, then I had to stand, sit and kneel again.

Yep. Anyone going to a catholic mass isn't going to be closer to God. They are going to see who else sees them there. Boring is an understatement. I'd never subject my kids to that torture.

Now non denomination, with concerts and a real message is how it should be. I was born and raised Catholic and I do my best to not step foot another Catholic church. Priests should just hand out bottles of wine to everyone. At least make it interesting that people want to go

Jesus Christ.

Two women in front of me pulled out water bottles multiple times during Mass, which by the way lasted 60 minutes. There was a constant steam of adults leaving the pews to go to the bathrooms in the rear of the church. I get having to take little kids, but that wasn’t the case. I felt like I was at some mega church where the congregation gets up from the Sunday service to get their coffee.
Come to an Orthodox liturgy where the norm is to stand and the service lasts around two and a half hours.

Show me in the bible where it says water and pee breaks during a sermon aren't allowed?

Not attacking Mass, from someone who’s attended every type of church service, it’s far and away the most boring service types in the religious world. I have no dog in the fight. I’m not religious. If you’re taking entertainment/engagement value. So much of it is tradition/physical movements/canned scripts.

My bet is they either aren’t Catholic or just going to tag along.

rch isn’t for you. It’s to give thanks to God. That’s what is lost with people in the last 20-30 years with the rise of “mega-churches”. People feel like they don’t “get anything out of Catholic mass”, so they get enthralled with charismatic preachers and concert-like songs at these non-denomination churches. It fills that void that they think they are searching for, when it fact they miss out on the whole purpose of mass, which is to give thanks to God and participate in the sacrament of Eucharist.

You’re basically agreeing with his premise. It’s boring. Nobody should be surprised. The other is selling a more engaging product. Yes, it’s a product. Too much $ at stake if you’re seeing the amount of money is exchanged.

It's Christmas eve. Guys have been drinking alcohol all day. Need to drain the snake.

Also, you religious people are the most hypocritical, racist, people in the world. All religions are like that.

It's all made up stories. Hell, Christmas is based on pagan holidays.

Ancient Romans also celebrated their sun god, Sol Invictus, on Dec. 25, according to Landau, because the winter solstice marked the real sun's annual rebirth from fading during fall and winter to being in the sky longer during spring and summer.

Jesus was never born on Christmas or any other day. Talk about being beta sheep.

Can everyone just worship in peace?

If you go to church people say you are a sheep

In church they say you move to much

Dont go to church youre a bad person

Its comical all the hoops everyone wants you to jump through for them to be happy with your salvation.

Screw them all

I realize this is an attempt at a Protestant joke. But in all seriousness, I’ve never seen anyone get up and get coffee during a church service. At any of the many places I have been.

My daughter goes to an MDO program at a large Baptist church, they have a coffee shop in the church
