This extended family like cousins? Or your kids came back home for the holidays. If kids, meh. If extended family it's kind of an alpha move.

Damn, you are desperate. Hotel remote batteries are almost always dead.

Yep. We wash it all before traveling back because when you get back just simply put clean clothes away and relax to finish the trip. Lets face it getting families together for the holidays is work!

You should get towels too, and soap and shampoo. Stop at the front desk and get a new toothbrush.
Find an embassy suites nearby and have a free breakfast.
Always ask for ketchup and salt packets at restaurants.

Why did you allow this to happen?

All you had to do is make up an excuse saying you’ve been having washing machine issues so please don’t use it.

Congrats though on the higher water bill, higher detergent, higher electric bill and beat up washer and dryer.

I always wash my guests’ clothes before they leave. It’s my way of thanking them for visiting.

When I travel, I ask if it’s okay to do my laundry the day before I leave. I also strip the bed the morning I leave, and wash and dry them. If I have an early flight, I toss them in the washer and run the cycle. Common courtesy, if you ask me.

If someone asked to use my washer dryer I wouldn’t hesitate to say yes. That’s a part of hosting and I don’t see any problem with it

I mean there’s a difference if a kid has a potty accident and the clothes and sheets need to get washed asap… understandable.

The OP allowed his entire extended family to wash their whole suitcases like his house was a fricking Holiday Inn laundromat while he footed the bill.

They did this because they know you’re poor enough that this will bother you but you’re too big of a pussy to stop them.

You’re wife 100% shoved a pair of panties in their coat pocket when she gave the goodbye hug

I don’t have a dog in this fight. I’ll ask my wife. And wherever she does laundry is fine by me.

How long were they in town for? If it's only 1-2 days then yeah it's weird. Longer than that and I'd probably be asking you too to use it. At least when flying, there's a difference cost wise between a carry-on and a checked bag so if you've got an available washer/dryer then I'll pack less and would like to do laundry.

Is it relevant that you wash everything when you get home?

It’s ok for them to make different choices than you.

Weird that you're attacking the OP for being "poor" when the family members he was hosting mooched his appliances and detergent right before they left. They seem like the poor ones here.

Not a big deal especially if they are flying, but they should have done the sheets if time allowed.
