People that say this are really, really frickin stupid.

First off, how many schools would have a drastically different record if their starting QB was taken away?

Then, are we just forgetting about our 2 first round WRs? Our dominate O line? One of the best blocking TEs in football and a collection of RBs who consistently pushed it down the field?

One player? You're an idiot.

I love how a once in a generation Ole Miss team beat an overrated BIG team in a meaningless bowl game and the LSU fanbase is collectively shitting themselves like the actual sky is falling.

Will BK ever win a title here? Who knows.

But there is no planet where he was a bad hire for LSU. In fact he was easily the best hire that could have realistically been made at the time.

I'd say the issue is Ole Miss has the chance to make a realistic run at a title this year which will probably be the last time in a long time. They have an pretty easy schedule next year. Lane will be at Bama in a couple of years though, and I see OM dropping off again after that.

2 (potential) 10 win seasons.

Won the west.

Brings in a transfer QB and makes him a Heisman winner.

All of this after walking into a program with a depleted roster and had their first losing season in 20 years prior to him showing up.

Apart from Lanning (who plays in a substantially easier conference), name a coach who's got a better track record at their new program in the last 2 years?

I'll wait.

I will say this, I like Kelly for a lot of reasons. But next year is going to be critical for both his future and the future of the LSU football program. What happened this year with the defense was an unmitigated disaster. Whether it was coaching, recruiting, or injuries, he needs to make a huge improvement on defense while remaining top notch on offense or he and LSU could be in trouble.

Winning the SEC championship next year will be exponentially more difficult with Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama all in great shape. Not to mention Texas and Oklahoma joining the conference. Taking a step back in any way could be disastrous.

Brian Kelly has some serious work to do. Whether or not he has the "x-factor" will be revealed next year.

Good. The guy who follows Saban will find nearly impossible to maintain that program and I don’t think Lane has the work ethic or attention to detail to come remotely close.

No one will be better than Saban. It doesn't matter who they hire. That being said, he's the one no opponent wants to see at Bama. His resources would be endless.

I don't understand all of the down votes. I realistically see the issues also.

Our offense is right where it needs to be. Our defense is light years away

19-7, already won the West, Heisman Trophy winner, and hopefully on Monday close out back to back 10 win seasons.

Damn right.

Runs a clean program, and our Oline will be dominant under him. Is the new SEC a gauntlet of solid programs week after week….hell yes it is.

Maintained an excellent WR depth. Improved RB recruiting. Best TE talent we've ever had.

Yeah. The SEC was way easier the last 25 years than it is now.

It’s going to be a gauntlet of very good programs in the SEC. Losing 2 games will not necessarily end your playoff hopes. But Georgia and Alabama will be given more rope to make the 12 team playoffs. It seems like the NCAA basketball tournament. Stay alive long enough to be one of the 12 teams then you have a shot to win a Natty with 3 losses if you are Saban or Kirby smart.

Good lord One season will not make or break any program that has proven it can win multiple titles. Some of you really need to calm down.
